
Died after an auto accident which occurred
on January 5, 1935 an Route 5 at Clinton Highway in the Village of Kirkland,
Oneida County. Before he died Trooper Plunket stated that a car crowded him
from the road and while attempting to return to the highway, he skidded and
struck a pole. Every bone in his face was broken and every tooth was knocked
out. Trooper Plunkett died after a blood clot reached his heart during an operation
to set his jaws.
Died after a motorcycle accident that occurred
on August 23, 1934 at Boght Corner on the Albany- Crescent Highway in the Town
of Colonie, Albany County. His motorcycle collided with an auto as the car was
making a left turn into a gas station.
Died in an auto accident when he was thrown
from his car after he left the road.
Died when his auto left the road, struck
a road sign and crashed through trees in a gully on Route 9G, Town of Madalin,
Dutchess County.
Died in an auto accident during a heavy
rain and electrical storm on the Bronx River Parkway, Town of Yorktown, Westchester
County. Corporal Lord's troop car struck the center isle and flipped over twice,
pinning him underneath.
Died in a motorcycle accident on the Boltron
Landing Road when an oncoming auto pulled into his lane to pass a line of vehicles,
forcing Trooper Laurence off of the road and into two trees, pinning his motorcycle
on top of him.
Died in an auto accident at Montauk Point,
LI, when his troop car skidded on icy pavement, went down an embankment and
flipped over, pinning him underneath.
Died after a motorcycle accident that occurred
on February 28, 1936 on the Albany-Schenectady Road, when he ran into the back
of a bakery truck while he tried to catch his hat that had blown off. The bakery
truck had slowed to make a left turn.
Died of Bright's Disease caused by complications
of leg injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred on August 20,
1931, from which he never recovered. Trooper Devitt's motorcycle was struck
on Route 5 in Canastota by an auto operated by a 15 year old male as he waited
on the shoulder of the road for traffic to pass before pursuing a violator.
He was thrown 20, his leg was fractured and pierced by a motorcycle spoke.
Died in an auto accident on Main Avenue
in Wyandanch, LI, when his car skidded on wet pavement, crashed into a clump
of pine trees and then overturned. Trooper Reddy and his passenger Trooper Gerald
B. Kane were killed instantly.

Died after the car in which he was a passenger
ran off the road on Route 20 in the Village of Morrisville. Sergeant Fitzpatrick
was ejected and the vehicle rolled over on him. The driver of the car, Trooper
R. C. Wyllie, fell asleep at the wheel after they had been on duty for almost
24 hours looking for prison escapees from the Jamesville Penitentiary.
Died on the Bronx River Parkway Extension,
Town of Yorktown, Weschester County, when he was ejected from his car as it
ran off of the parkway and into a tree.
Died from injuries that were sustained
in a motorcycle accident on the Southern State parkway, Town of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, occurring on August 21, 1938. A tire blew out on Trooper Kerins
motorcycle causing it to skid. Trooper Kerins lost control, fell to the pavement
and struck his head. Trooper Kerins never regained consciousness.
Died after a motorcycle accident which
occurred on August 27, 1939 on the Eastern State Parkway. Trooper Dobbs ran
into a vehicle that had just been involved in an accident. Trooper Dobbs had
attempted to avoid the vehicle unsuccessfully, struck it, and was thrown 15
feet.
